I provide family therapy for all members of a family or for selected members, utilizing different techniques depending on their needs. Research studies have repeatedly demonstrated the effectiveness of family therapy in treating the full range of mental and emotional disorders and health problems. According to scientific research, clients who use family therapy "report marked improvement in work productivity, co-worker relationships, family relationships, partner relationships, emotional health, overall health, social life, and community involvement."
My approach to family therapy is:
- Research-based
- Brief
- Solution-focused
- Non-blaming
- Emphasized building relationships rather than finger-pointing
- Nonjudgmental
Besides my extensive training and clinical experience, the fact that I have been married for 34 years and raised three children enables me to bring my personal experience into my practice. I am not afraid to share my own experiences with my clients and let them know that each family member’s needs is important and that effective communication is the key to building a happy and loving family.
My treatment focus is always to take into account the cultural and religious background of my clients. Respecting and understanding my clients’ cultural and personal values makes it easier for all of us to arrive at happy solutions.

- Acculturation and cross-cultural transitions
